Olympics trumps Heritage

Britain's Labour government refused the Queen's request for money to maintain Buckingham Palace, due to the soaring costs of the Olympics.

Isnt Buckingham Palace property of the government and not the House of Windsor?

This is absolutely ridiculous. Not only is the Labour government neglecting spitting on it's lawful sovereign, but it is also letting state property and an important heritage site fall apart.

The presence of the Royal Family does much for the London economy. I wonder how quickly the government would supply the requested funds if Her Majesty decided to move the family back to Windsor Castle.
