Biblical Monarchy

An Orthodox monarchist friend of mine debunks the canard (particularly popular with Protestant Americanists) that the Bible suggests God is against Monarchy. (For more on Judges vs. Kings in ancient Israel, see Catholic monarchist Charles Coulombe's Monarchy FAQ.)

Prince George Christened

HRH Prince George of Cambridge was christened yesterday by the Archbishop of Canterbury at the Chapel Royal of St James's Palace. And today for the first time since 1894 we finally have the four-generation photograph for which royalists all over the world have been waiting since he was born on 22 July: the Queen and three future Kings. The other official photographs show Prince George with additional members of his family on both sides. God Save the Queen and God bless her great-grandson Prince George!

Belle Époque Rulers

I've added a new page to my website that collects four assemblies (three posters and one actual photograph) of rulers of the "Belle Époque" (1871-1914), one of my favourite periods in history (in spite of the fact that France was already lost to republicanism), at four different dates: 1896 (below), 1903-05, 1908, and 1910. These are beautiful mementos of what in many ways was a better time, when most of Europe though rapidly modernizing still rightly accepted Monarchy as the norm.

Jaime & Viktoria

Congratulations to HRH Prince Jaime of Bourbon-Parma (son of the late Prince Carlos Hugo Duke of Parma and Princess Irene of the Netherlands) and the former Viktória Cservenyák, who were married this weekend in Wijk bij Duurstede (civ) and Apeldoorn (rel).

Prince Harry in Australia

Australia's monarchist prime minister loyally welcomed the fourth in line to the Australian throne to Sydney: "I regret to say that not every Australian is a monarchist, but today everyone feels like a monarchist." Tony Abbot also introduced Prince Harry to his two thrilled daughters.
