That's depressing. It's a shame that Henri, similar to other modern royals, seem to want to throw away the little power they have left. Perhaps they do this out of a sense of self-preservation. It is to no avail, though; the modernists will oust them as soon as it is feasible, no matter how liberal they become. It's a sad, sad reality.

As I said at the forum, I'm not entirely convinced from the NYT article that this is necessarily what he wants. He could be simply making an observation which is probably correct.
